Hello, my name is Paige Marsicano, and welcome to my website!  I created this space in order to showcase my most recent work as a videographer and editor.  I graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in May of 2018 and received a Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies and International Studies.  Being an interdisciplinary graduate, I intend to combine my myriad of skills and interests, to immerse myself in subject matter of all kinds.  Documenting information and presenting it to the public as a means to gain knowledge and understanding is a passion of mine in its own right.

My love and interest in documentary filmmaking began in high school when I wrote, shot and narrated my first environmental documentary that screened in front of residents and state government representatives in my home state of Connecticut.

In my freelance career, I have produced content for non-profits such as the Wounded Warriors Project, Keep New Hanover Beautiful, The Cape Fear River Watch, and Switchin’ Gears as well as created marketing material for local restaurants and for businesses such as Creative Unions.

From 2017-2018 I worked as a Media Production Assistant for UNCW’s Office of University Relations creating not only promotional and marketing material for the university, but also more long-form creative documentary content such as Navassa: a Community Facing Change.

In 2016 I was the director of photography on the short film Concentration, which screened at multiple film festivals across North Carolina.  In 2017, I was director of photography on the feature length documentary, Dead in the Water, which premiered at the Cucalorus Festival in November 2018 and won Best Student Film at the American Conservation Film Festival.

Aside from my love of filmmaking, I love reading, painting and am an avid hiker and backpacker.   In 2017 I hiked 750 miles of the Appalachian Trail and hope to one day complete the full 2,200 miles.   I also have a passion for aviation, and received my Private Pilot Certification in 2011.
